About the Kotak Bank SIP Calculator

A SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) invests a fixed amount in a mutual fund every month. Because you buy regularly, you average out market ups and downs, and your money compounds over time.

Enter your monthly amount, the return you expect each year and the number of years. The calculator shows what you invest, the estimated gains and the final corpus.

Formula used

FV = P × [((1 + i)^n − 1) / i] × (1 + i), where P = monthly amount, i = annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100, n = number of months.

Frequently asked questions

How much SIP is needed for ₹1 crore?

At 12% a year, about ₹43,000 a month for 10 years, ₹19,800 for 15 years or ₹10,000 for 20 years. Starting early matters more than the amount.

Are SIP returns guaranteed?

No. Mutual fund returns depend on the market. The calculator uses the rate you enter, so treat the result as an estimate, not a promise.

What return rate should I assume?

Long-term equity funds have historically returned roughly 10–14% a year, but it varies. Use a conservative figure such as 10–12% for planning.
